Frequently askedquestions.
Brow Micropigmentation

Microblading is becoming an incredibly popular treatment as more and more people like the fine results that it can offer. The pigment is implanted in the basal membrane, which divides the epidermis from the Dermis layer of the skin. This technique is therefore more superficial than tattooing.
So What is Micropigmentation?
Brow Micropigmentation (commonly know as Cosmetic tattooing) is the process of implanting pigment just below the skins surface. Using a top of the line, computerized Micropigmentation (permanent Makeup machine) we are able to control the speed & depth of the needle to ensure pigment gets distributed evenly under the skin.
This amazing Eye Brow treatment suits people who ideally have the wrong Brow shape, over plucked, loss of hair / patchy areas and won’t grow back or through medical reasons such as Alopecia or chemotherapy. Micropigmentation gently enhances clients’ natural features, giving them more confidence in their overall appearance.

The purpose of Micropigmentation is to gently enhance your own natural features and create a customized look that suits you!
The procedure is 2-3 hours long and typically includes your consultation on the same day.

Before Your Appointment

-
If you have an ideal shape and colour in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment.
-
You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire.
-
If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.
-
We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.
-
Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume.
-
If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
-
It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
AFTERCARE

How you treat your beautiful new brows for the 10-14 days after your initial and touch up appointments will ultimately determine their final appearance and longevity. Please follow these instructions carefully for best results:

-
Immediately, and two to three times a day following your procedure, please apply your aftercare balm to your brows (After Inked/Vitamin E/Coconut Oil or Cicaplast) Never let you’re your brows feel tight, or completely dry. Hydration is key.
-
Swelling is normal after Micropigmentation, and can be managed with soft gel ice packs. Place chilled (not frozen) gel packs in plastic baggies before applying. This is to protect your brows from coming into contact with moisture.

-
Flaking and crusting may also occur as the skin heals. Picking or peeling at the procedure area may cause loss of pigment and scarring. Refrain from touching your brows, except when applying aftercare balm. Please wash your hands prior to each application.

-
Please note that some pigment may rub off, so take precautions to protect good linens and towels. The pigment will be a few shades darker for the first few days while your brows heal. Please avoid using brow makeup during the initial healing time.

-
When showering or bathing, apply a thick layer of your aftercare balm before to create a barrier, and avoid putting your face directly in the water stream.

-
Pools, Jacuzzis, tanning, excess sweating, facials, Botox, and saunas should be avoided for at least 10 days after the procedure, or until the procedure area is fully healed. Skin creams and products containing Retin-A, AHA or any kind of skin peel may not be used, as they will fade and possibly distort the procedure area.

-
Sun block should always be applied (SPF 60 recommended), and a hat/sunglasses should be worn for the first few days if sun exposure is longer than 30 minutes.

After your brows heal, a perfection appointment will be needed; the process is not considered complete without it! Your brows may lose anywhere from 40-60% of the pigment. Your touch-up appointment should be booked within 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment.
